AWS Account

If you don’t already have an AWS account, please create one first. If you are attending an AWS event, skip this step and move to an AWS event

This workshop support us-east-1 (N.Virginia), us-east-2 (Ohio), us-west-2 (Oregon), eu-west-1 (Ireland), ap-northeast-1 (Tokyo), ap-northeast-2(Seoul) and ap-south-1 (Mumbai) region. You will deploy CloudFormation stack to create prerequisites in the next step.

IAM User

Now you have your own AWS account and let’s create an IAM user with Administrator access. Skip if you already have one.

  1. Login to AWS account as Root user using your email address and password.
  2. Move to IAM Users and click Add user.
  3. User name: Administrator
  4. Check AWS Management Console access. Select Custom password and enter the password to use.
  5. Click Next: Permissions. IAMPermission
  6. Select Attach existing policies directly and check AdministratorAccess policy. Click Next: Tags. IAMPolicy
  7. Click Next: Review.
  8. Review if Administrator user has AdministratorAccess managed policy and click Create user.
  9. Logout and log back in using Administrator userid.
